BA operated a small subfleet of five Airbus A321 aircraft which were utilised on mid haul routes between London Heathrow and Beirut, Amman, Cairo, Moscow, and Tel Aviv but occasionally performed services on short haul routes. The type was inherited with the acquistion of British Midland International, originally configured 31J 118M, then modified in 2012 as 23J 131M and featured Thompson Aero Vantage flat beds in Club World and Geven Piuma seats in World Traveller, all equipped with individual audio visual entertainment screens powered by the Thales i5000 IFE system.
All were converted from mid haul to the standard short haul configuration between 2017 and 2020
