How can I recognise a specific 777 type by looking at BA’s seating chart?

There are so many BA 777 cabin configurations. How to pin-point the right one

With so many different cabin configurations and as the BA seat selection chart only displays the cabin you are booked in, it can be difficult identify the exact aircraft type. There are a few visible tell tale signs so let’s walk though them cabin by cabin.


When booked in First
If you are booked in First, then we can narrow this down to five aircraft types

Two rows of F seats

  • 77H: rows 1-2. This aircraft type is identified as 77W on BA’s seat chart
  • 77M: rows 1-2. This aircraft type is identified as 777 on BA’s seat chart


Four rows of F seats

  • 77G: rows 1-4. No 3EF. Boeing 777-300ER
  • 77R: rows 1-4. No 3EF. This type typically operates between London and Bermuda, Orlando, and the Caribbean
  • 77Z: rows 1-4. No 3EF, 3K, or 4K



When booked in Club World 

4 abreast seating (A-EF-K). These aircraft feature the new Club World Suite

  • 77H: rows 5-24. No 18AK or 24AK. This aircraft type is identified as 77W on BA’s seat chart
  • 77L: rows 1-7 and 8-14
  • 77M: rows 5-17. No 8A or 8EF


8 abreast seating (AB-DEFG-JK)

  • 77G: rows 10-16
  • 77J: rows 1-5 and 10-11. No 1AB or 1JK
  • 77R and 77Z: rows 10-15
  • 77S and 77T: rows 1-4. Cabins are near identical



When booked in World Traveller Plus 

8 abreast seating (AB-DEFG-JK)

  • 77G: rows 21-26. No 21AB or 21JK
  • 77H: rows 30-34. This aircraft type is identified as 77W on BA’s seat chart
  • 77J: rows 12-14
  • 77L: rows 15-19
  • 77M: rows 21-24
  • 77R: rows 21-25. This type typically operates between London and Bermuda, Orlando and the Caribbean
  • 77S and 77Z: rows 10-15. The 77S typically operates between London and Orlando and the Caribbean
  • 77T: rows 10-16. No 10DEFG . This type typically operates between London and Orlando and the Caribbean



When booked in World Traveller 

9 abreast seating (ABC-DEF-HJK)

  • 77G: rows 28-50. No 28C, 28H, 49C, 49H, 50C, or 50H
  • 77J: rows 16-24 and 26-40. No 16C, 16H, or 39C
  • 77Z: rows 26-40. No 39C, 39H, 40ABC, or 40HKL 

10 abreast seating (ABC-DEFG-HJK)

  • 77H: rows 40-53. This aircraft type is identified as 77W on BA’s seat chart
  • 77L: rows 25-29 and 30-44
  • 77M: rows 25-40
    77R: rows 26-40. No 39AB
  • 77S: rows 20-31 and 33-46. This type typically operates between London and Orlando and the Caribbean
  • 77T: rows 20-31 and 32-4. This type typically operates between London and Orlando and the Caribbean
